BMW Group Plant Munich announced that from 2027 it will produce the fully‑electric BMW M3, the first high‑performance model built with BMW M Neue Klasse technology. [E1]

The plant, which marked the production of its one‑millionth BMW M vehicle, will shift to exclusive electric production; all output at the site is planned to be fully‑electric from 2027 onward. [E1]

The transformation involves an investment of around 650 million euros and the construction of a new body shop and logistics areas covering roughly one‑third of the plant’s total area. [E1]

Production of the current combustion‑engine M3 generation began at the Munich plant in 2020; the upcoming electric version will be assembled at the same facility. [E1]

The announcement was made by Peter Weber, head of the plant, and Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, during the ceremony presenting the one‑millionth BMW M vehicle. [E1]
